Neiman Marcus Co. has teamed with Iridium North America, a wireless communications company, to offer Iridium cellular phone service as a reward for Neiman's best customers under a marketing agreement announced yesterday.
Iridium service will be featured in the December edition of "The Book," the store's catalogue, which, among other items, last year touted $14,000 watches and trip to Cuba for cigar smoking.
Customers won't be able to order the service directly from the catalogue for now, an Iridium spokeswoman said. But Neiman's InCircle members, customers who charge more than $3,000 per year to their Neiman Marcus credit card, will be able to preview and order cell phones from Iridium at special in-store events.
Really big spenders Neiman Marcus has yet to determine how big will receive Iridium cell phone service as part of the InCircle rewards program.
Iridium is owned by District-based Iridium LLC.
